We process your personal data for the following purposes. Where European data protection law (GDPR) or UK GDPR applies, we identify the legal basis for each purpose.
Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR users) | Notes |
Responding to your enquiry | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): our interest in responding to voluntary enquiries submitted through the Website. | We respond directly or route your enquiry to the relevant local distributor. Our interest in doing so is proportionate and is not overridden by your privacy interests given the limited data collected. |
Routing your enquiry to the relevant MEGO distributor, affiliate or representative for your country or region | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): our interest in connecting you with the local entity best placed to respond. | You are informed of this routing through a notice on the contact form before you submit. |

6. Sharing Your Personal Data
6.1 MEGO distributors, affiliates and representatives
If you submit an enquiry through the Website, we may share your contact details, country or region, user category and enquiry type with the MEGO distributor, affiliate or representative responsible for your country or region, so that they may respond to your request.
Distributors, affiliates and representatives who receive your enquiry details are independent data controllers. They will handle your personal data in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable law. MEGO is not responsible for their data processing practices. We take reasonable steps to share your data only with distributors who are contractually committed to handling it lawfully and securely.
Distributors and representatives are not authorised to use your personal data for purposes other than responding to your enquiry, unless you have separately consented.
6.2 Service providers
We share personal data with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Website and managing enquiries, including providers of website hosting, customer relationship management, email and communications, website analytics, and cookie consent management services. These providers process personal data on our behalf, under written agreements, and only for the purposes we specify.
6.3 Legal and regulatory authorities
We may disclose personal data to courts, regulators or law enforcement authorities where required by applicable law or in response to a valid legal request.
6.4 Business transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganisation or sale of all or part of MEGO’s business, personal data may be transferred to the relevant successor entity, subject to equivalent privacy protections.
7. International Data Transfers
MEGO is incorporated and operates in Israel. Your personal data may also be processed in other countries, including countries where our service providers and distributors are located.
7.1 Transfers to Israel
Personal data is primarily processed in Israel. The European Commission has recognised Israel as providing an adequate level of protection for personal data transferred from the EEA (Commission Decision 2011/61/EU). This means that transfers from the EEA to Israel do not require additional safeguards. This adequacy decision is subject to periodic review by the European Commission.
7.2 Transfers to other countries
Some of our service providers are located in, or transfer data to, countries outside Israel and the EEA that are not covered by a European Commission adequacy decision — including the United States. Where we transfer personal data to such countries, we rely on appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission (Commission Implementing Decision 2021/914), or other transfer mechanisms permitted under GDPR Chapter V.
You may request further information about the safeguards in place by contacting us at privacy@megoafek.com.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies on the Website. A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies to enable basic website functions, remember your preferences, understand how the Website is used, and — where you have given consent — to support marketing activities.
8.1 Types of cookies we use

Analytics / performance | Collect data about how visitors use the Website. Used to improve the Website. | Yes — placed only after you give consent. |
Marketing / targeting | Used to show relevant content and measure marketing effectiveness. May be set by MEGO or third-party platforms. | Yes — placed only after you give consent. |
8.2 Managing your cookie preferences
When you first visit the Website, a cookie consent banner will be displayed. You may accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or set your preferences by category using the preference centre. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by clicking the Cookie Settings link in the website footer. You may also manage cookies through your browser settings, though disabling certain cookies may affect Website functionality.
8.3 Social media features
The Website may include social media features such as share or like buttons operated by third-party platforms including Facebook and LinkedIn. These features are operated by those platforms independently of MEGO. Your use of those features is subject to the terms and privacy policies of the relevant platform. MEGO is not responsible for the data practices of social media platforms.
9. Marketing Communications
We will send marketing communications about MEGO’s products and services only where you have given us your express, prior and separate consent by ticking the optional marketing consent checkbox on the Website contact form. Marketing consent is never a condition of submitting a general enquiry.
You may withdraw your marketing consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us at info@megoafek.com. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
10. How Long We Keep Your Personal Data
We retain personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, taking into account our legal obligations, legitimate business needs and applicable limitation periods.
Category of data | How long we keep it | Why |

11. Information Security
We implement technical and organisational security measures appropriate to the nature of the personal data we process and the risks involved. Our measures include encryption of data in transit, access controls limiting access to personal data to authorised personnel, use of reputable and vetted service providers, and contractual security requirements imposed on all processors and service providers.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a personal data breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority and, where required by law, inform you directly, in accordance with our legal obligations.
12. Your Rights

If you are a resident of California or another state whose privacy law grants you rights in relation to how we process your personal data, please contact us at info@megoafek.com to enquire about or exercise those rights. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
California residents: to the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA) applies to MEGO’s processing of your personal data, you have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell personal information. To submit a request, please contact info@megoafek.com.
13. Children and Minors
The Website is intended for users aged 18 and above and is not directed to children or minors. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. When you follow a link to a third-party site, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. MEGO is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, availability or security of those sites. Your interaction with any third-party site is governed by its own terms and privacy policy, which we encourage you to review before providing any personal data.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, applicable law, or other factors. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For significant changes that may materially affect your rights or how we process your personal data, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, for example by displaying a prominent notice on the Website. Continued use of the Website after an updated Policy is posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
