The Origins of a Lasting Compression Therapy Technology
Mego Afek began as an engineering-driven initiative, focused on precision pressure technologies and hands-on manufacturing expertise. This foundation later enabled the company’s transition into medical technology, shaped through close collaboration with clinical experts. Working alongside Professor Avigdor Zelikovski, then Chief of Vascular Surgery at Beilinson Hospital, Mego Afek translated its capabilities into practical therapeutic solutions.
This collaboration led to the development of the Lympha Press® system for the treatment of lymphedema, establishing a strong connection between clinical need and technological execution that continues to guide the company today.
As a pioneering technological solution at the time, the Lympha Press® systems were extensively tested in leading teaching hospitals and clinics worldwide and supported by published clinical research.
Over the years, continuous innovation and strong in-house development and manufacturing capabilities enabled Mego Afek to expand its portfolio.
Today, Mego Afek is a global organization with hundreds of team members, operating from its headquarters in Israel and through two subsidiary companies in the United States, supported by representatives and distributors in over 50 countries worldwide. Through decades of collaboration with clinicians, researchers, and industry partners, Mego Afek technologies have been integrated into everyday care across medical, preventive, aesthetic, sports recovery, and veterinary fields.
